Ingredients
-
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
-
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
-
6–8 slices of ham (thinly sliced)
-
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or a mix of both)
-
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Prepare the Puff Pastry:
Unroll the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard evenly over the entire sheet of pastry. -
Add the Filling:
Layer the ham slices over the mustard-covered pastry. Then, sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly on top of the ham. -
Roll and Slice:
Carefully roll the puff pastry from one edge to the other, creating a tight log. Once rolled, slice the log into 1-inch pinwheels. -
Bake the Pinwheels:
Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out slightly. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Garnish and Serve:
Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
You can use any type of cheese that melts well, like mozzarella or Gruyère, for different flavor variations
-
To make these pinwheels even more flavorful, consider adding a touch of garlic powder or Italian seasoning to the cheese.
- For a vegetarian version, you can substitute the ham with roasted vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
