1/4 cup butter, melted
-
2 tbsp maple syrup
-
1/4 cup sugar
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1 tbsp active dry yeast
-
1 large egg
-
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
-
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
-
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
-
1/4 cup butter (for filling), softened
-
Maple glaze (optional):
-
1/2 cup powdered sugar
-
1–2 tbsp maple syrup
-
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
-
In a larger mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and cinnamon. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until dough forms.
-
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 12×9 inches). Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar, crumbled bacon, and cinnamon.
-
Roll the dough tightly and slice it into 12 even pieces. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish.
-
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
-
For the maple glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and maple syrup. Drizzle over the warm cinnamon rolls.
-
Serve immediately and enjoy the melt-in-your-mouth goodness!
Notes
-
For extra maple flavor, feel free to add a bit more maple syrup to the glaze.
-
You can substitute the bacon with maple-flavored bacon for an even stronger maple taste.
