With sweet strawberries tucked inside each roll, they are golden-brown on the outside, soft and custardy on the inside. Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of bread
  • 1 cup of sliced strawberries
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Dip each slice of flattened bread into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated, then place sliced strawberries on top of each slice.
  • Roll up each slice of bread, securing the ends with toothpicks to hold the shape.
  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Cook the French toast rolls in the skillet, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown on all sides.
  • Once cooked, remove the toothpicks and dust the rolls with powdered sugar before serving.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a tablespoon of sugar to the egg mixture.
  • If you prefer, you can use other fruits like blueberries or bananas instead of strawberries.
  • To make it even more indulgent, top with syrup, whipped cream, or extra fruit.
