Description

This Baked Feta Pasta is an easy and flavorful dish featuring baked feta cheese, juicy grape tomatoes, and fresh basil, all tossed with pasta for a creamy and irresistible meal. Perfect for a quick dinner that feels gourmet!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups grape tomatoes, washed and dried
  • 1 (8 oz) brick of feta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  • 12 oz bow tie pasta, cooked, drained, and kept warm

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Baking Dish:

    • In a large baking dish, place the grape tomatoes and drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add ½ teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, then toss to coat the tomatoes evenly.
  3. Add the Feta:

    • Place the block of feta cheese in the center of the tomatoes. Drizzle the remaining 3 tablespoons of olive oil over the feta.
  4. Bake:

    • Transfer the baking dish to the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the tomatoes burst and the feta cheese is soft and golden brown.
  5. Prepare the Pasta:

    • While the feta and tomatoes bake, cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions. Drain the pasta and set it aside, keeping it warm.
  6. Mash and Mix:

    • Once the feta and tomatoes are done, remove the dish from the oven. Use a fork to mash the feta and burst the tomatoes, creating a creamy sauce.
  7. Combine with Pasta:

    • Add the cooked pasta to the baking dish and toss everything together to coat the pasta in the creamy feta sauce.
  8. Serve:

    • Stir in the chopped fresh basil and give it one last toss. Serve immediately, garnished with extra basil if desired.

Notes

  • You can use any pasta shape you prefer, though bow tie pasta works particularly well with the creamy sauce.
  • Feel free to add some red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
  • For a vegetarian version, you can also add some veggies like spinach or zucchini to the dish.
