Description

This Cinnamon Roll Cake combines all the irresistible flavors of a classic cinnamon roll, but in a delicious, easy-to-make cake form! With a soft, tender cake base, a swirl of cinnamon and brown sugar, and a sweet glaze on top, it’s perfect for breakfast or dessert!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, melted

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, softened

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  • In another bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.

  • In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter for the cinnamon swirl.

  • Drop spoonfuls of the cinnamon mixture over the cake batter and use a knife or toothpick to swirl it through the cake.

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.

  • Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes before drizzling the glaze over the top.

  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can top this cake with additional cinnamon-sugar before baking for an extra burst of flavor.

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

  • This cake is great served warm, and the glaze will harden slightly as it cools.
