Description

This Easy Peppermint Fudge is a rich and creamy treat that’s perfect for the holiday season or any time you’re craving a sweet, minty dessert. Made with just a few ingredients, this simple fudge is smooth, indulgent, and topped with crunchy peppermint bits for that extra festive touch. It’s perfect for gifting or enjoying at home!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candy canes (for topping)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  • Melt the chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or microwave it in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until everything is melted and smooth.
  • Add the peppermint: Once the chocolate mixture is smooth, remove it from the heat. Stir in the peppermint extract and a pinch of salt. Mix well to incorporate the minty flavor.
  • Transfer to the pan: Pour the melted fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer. Gently tap the pan on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
  • Top with crushed peppermint: Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy canes evenly over the top of the fudge, pressing them down lightly to stick.
  • Chill and set: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2-3 hours, or until it’s fully set and firm.
  • Serve: Once the fudge is firm, remove it from the pan and cut it into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use a mixture of dark chocolate and milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate for a different flavor profile.
  • For a festive twist, drizzle some melted white or dark chocolate over the top of the fudge before adding the crushed peppermint.
  • Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • You can also package the fudge as a homemade gift for friends and family during the holidays!
