- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream, for topping
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it’s hot but not boiling.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, hot water, and salt until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is dissolved.
- Stir the cocoa mixture into the hot milk, mixing well until it’s fully blended and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade hot chocolate!
Notes
- For extra richness, you can use whole milk or even add a splash of cream.
- Adjust the sweetness to your taste by adding more or less sugar.
