This Homemade Hot Chocolate is the perfect cozy drink for chilly days. Rich and creamy, it’s made with unsweetened cocoa powder, a touch of sugar, and vanilla extract for a classic, comforting treat. Top it off with whipped cream for extra indulgence!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream, for topping

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it’s hot but not boiling.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, hot water, and salt until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is dissolved.
  • Stir the cocoa mixture into the hot milk, mixing well until it’s fully blended and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade hot chocolate!
