Ingredients
Scale
- For the Crust:
- 1 ½ cups Oreo cookie crumbs (about 15–20 Oreo cookies)
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- For the Mint Filling:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 2–3 drops green food coloring (optional, for a festive touch)
- For the Chocolate Topping:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- For Garnish:
- Additional whipped topping
- Chocolate shavings or sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Crust:
- In a medium bowl, combine the Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated with the butter.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×9-inch or 9×13-inch baking dish to form a solid crust. Refrigerate the crust while you prepare the filling.
- Make the Mint Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add the vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and green food coloring (if using). Mix until combined.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until the filling is light and fluffy.
- Spread the mint filling over the chilled Oreo crust, smoothing it out into an even layer.
- Prepare the Chocolate Topping:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and heavy cream. Heat in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the mint filling and spread it evenly with a spatula.
- Chill the Dessert:
- Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the layers to set and the flavors to meld together.
- Serve and Garnish:
- Once chilled, top the dessert with additional whipped topping and garnish with chocolate shavings or sprinkles, if desired.
- Slice and serve chilled.
