Description

These Soft Chocolate Cookies are a perfect blend of chewy and rich chocolate flavor. With a smooth buttery base and plenty of semisweet chocolate chips, these cookies are an irresistible treat for any chocolate lover.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually stir this dry mixture into the creamed butter mixture.
  • Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or just until the edges are set.
  • Allow the cookies to cool slightly on the cookie sheets before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • Be careful not to overbake the cookies as they will continue to firm up as they cool.
  • If you prefer a richer chocolate flavor, try adding an extra 1/4 cup of cocoa powder.
  • These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
