Instructions

  • Prepare the Oven and Pan:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal of the brownies.

  • Make the Brownie Batter:

    • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.

    • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract, red food coloring, and buttermilk until fully combined.

  • Mix the Dry Ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. The batter will be thick.

  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Swirl:

    • In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

  • Assemble the Brownies:

    • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
