This Crispy and Sticky Honey Sesame Chicken is the perfect blend of crispy fried chicken coated in a sweet, savory sauce made with honey, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Topped with sesame seeds and fresh green onions, it’s a deliciously irresistible dish!

- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Green onions, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then coat with cornstarch.
- Dip each piece in beaten eggs and fry in hot oil until crispy and golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate pan, combine soy sauce, honey, ketchup, garlic, sesame oil, and water. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the cornstarch mixture to the sauce and cook until thickened.
- Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For extra crunch, you can double coat the chicken by dipping it back into the cornstarch after the egg wash.
- Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less honey according to your preference.
- Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables to complete the meal.
