Description

These turkey meatballs are perfectly seasoned and baked, then served in a rich and creamy pumpkin sage sauce. The combination of lean turkey and the earthy sweetness of pumpkin creates a comforting, flavorful dish, ideal for fall and winter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh sage
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, and chopped sage. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • In a saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree and chicken broth. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through and smooth.
  • Serve the turkey meatballs with the pumpkin sage sauce poured over them.

Notes

  • You can add a little cream to the pumpkin sauce for extra richness.
  • For a spicy kick, sprinkle some red pepper flakes into the pumpkin sage sauce.
  • If you prefer a meat-free version, substitute the turkey with plant-based ground meat.
