Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add almond extract and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until dough comes together.
- Fold in chopped maraschino cherries.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls, roll in granulated sugar, and place on a baking sheet.
- Flatten each ball with a fork.
- Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool before serving.
