Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (about 5 oz) of drained white tuna
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh herbs (such as parsley or dill)
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, eggs, minced garlic, fresh herbs, and lemon zest.
  • Mix the ingredients until they are well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the tuna balls in batches, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes per batch).
  • Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  • Serve hot with a dipping sauce or your favorite side dish.

Notes

  • You can adjust the level of herbs and garlic to suit your taste.
  • If you prefer a healthier version, try baking the tuna balls in the oven at 375°F for about 15-20 minutes, turning halfway through.
