Description

Recreate the iconic McDonald’s Sausage, Egg & Cheese McMuffin right at home! Perfectly cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, melty cheese, and an English muffin come together for a delicious breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 English muffin (split and toasted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 sausage patty (can be store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 slice American cheese (or your preferred cheese)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for greasing the pan)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: hot sauce or ketchup for added flavor

Instructions

  • Toast the muffin: Split the English muffin and toast both halves until golden brown.
  • Cook the sausage: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage patty for about 4-5 minutes per side or until fully cooked and browned.
  • Cook the egg: In the same skillet, melt butter (optional). Crack the egg into the skillet and cook to your preferred doneness (scrambled, fried, or soft-boiled). Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Assemble the McMuffin: Place the cooked sausage patty on the bottom half of the toasted English muffin. Top with the cooked egg, then a slice of cheese. Place the top muffin half on top to complete the sandwich.
  • Serve immediately, and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a healthier version, you can use turkey sausage or a plant-based sausage patty.
  • If you prefer scrambled eggs, simply whisk the eggs in a bowl and scramble them in the pan before assembling.
  • You can also experiment with different cheeses, like cheddar or Swiss, for a unique twist.
