Description
This Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger features juicy, golden-brown chicken fillets coated in a spicy, crispy crust. Paired with fresh toppings like lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a soft brioche bun, it’s a deliciously fiery twist on a classic chicken sandwich.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 brioche buns
- Lettuce, tomato, pickles, and any other desired toppings
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breasts in half horizontally to make 4 thin fillets.
- Place the chicken fillets in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Remove the chicken fillets from the buttermilk and dredge them in the flour mixture, making sure they are well coated.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken fillets for about 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Toast the brioche buns in the same pan or oven until lightly golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the crispy chicken fillet on the bottom half of each bun and topping with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and any other desired toppings. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper based on your spice preference.
- For extra crunch, you can double dredge the chicken fillets (dip back in the buttermilk and flour mixture).
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch or spicy mayo.
