Description

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cups rhubarb, thinly sliced

  • ½ cup white sugar


Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  • Add the sliced rhubarb and sugar. Stir to combine.

  • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the rhubarb breaks down and the sauce thickens, about 10–15 minutes.

  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.

 

  • Serve warm or chilled. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Notes

For a smoother sauce, blend the cooked mixture.

Adjust the sugar depending on the tartness of your rhubarb.

Add a splash of vanilla or a pinch of cinnamon for extra depth of flavor.
