- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil.
- Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Drop dough by spoonfuls into hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown, turning once.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to let the dough cool slightly before adding the eggs to prevent them from cooking in the hot mixture.
