Description

These light and airy Vanilla French Beignets are a delightful treat, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfectly dusted with powdered sugar, these sweet, golden doughnuts are a great snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil.
  • Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  • Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Drop dough by spoonfuls into hot oil.
  • Fry until golden brown, turning once.
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to let the dough cool slightly before adding the eggs to prevent them from cooking in the hot mixture.
  • These beignets are best served fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
