Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (25 oz) package frozen cheese ravioli (or fresh ravioli)
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for greasing the baking dish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil or non-stick cooking spray. - Prepare the Ravioli:
If using frozen ravioli, cook it according to package instructions (about 4-5 minutes for frozen ravioli) until al dente. Drain and set aside. - Layer the Bake:
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Layer half of the cooked ravioli on top. Sprinkle with half of the chopped spinach, half of the mozzarella, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers, starting with the marinara sauce, then ravioli, spinach, and the remaining cheese. - Season the Dish:
Sprinkle dried basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper on top of the final layer of cheese. - Bake the Ravioli:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden. - Serve and Enjoy:
Allow the bake to cool for a few minutes before serving. This dish pairs perfectly with a side salad or some garlic bread!
Notes
- Feel free to add more vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers, or zucchini for extra flavor and nutrients.
- You can use fresh ravioli and skip the boiling step.
- For a richer dish, add ricotta cheese to the layers or mix it into the marinara sauce.
